me and my photogear

I live near Frankfurt/Main, Germany.
If you believe my parents, I attended my first airshow in the 70ies in Belgium when I was only a toddler. There is even a photograph of me sitting in the cockpit of a Fiat G 91 "Gina".
Some years later there was the "TOP GUN"-movie and I was hooked not only on military aviation as such, but also on the sleek lines and beauty of fighter aircraft, portrayed to perfection by Tony Scott and his team.
Attending airshows, air bases and military aviation related exercises is my hobby for more than 20 years. Over time I progressed from taking pictures with an analogue camera to digital and from easily affordable equipment to more sophisticated gear.
Of course, this shows in my pictures (but I still like the older ones, too).

Currently I use a Nikon Z9 with 14-24 mm, 24-70 mm, 70-100 mm, 100-400 mm and 600 mm lenses.
Before that it was digital Nikon D850, D810, D700, D500, D7200, D200 and D80 bodies, even an analogue Nikon FM2 body, and mostly Nikon lenses from 14 up to 600 mm focal length (and trust me, it is no fun lugging a 600/4 up the Wildgaerst summit to bag Swiss Hornets and Tigers but the results are worth it ...).
