I live near Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

If you believe my parents, I attended my first airshow in the 70's in Belgium when I was only a toddler. There is even a photograph of me sitting in the cockpit of a Fiat G 91 "Gina".

Some years later there was the "TOP GUN"-movie and I was hooked not only on military aviation per se, but also on the sleek lines and beauty of fighter aircraft, portrayed to perfection by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Unfortunately, my short stint as a conscript with the German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, led me not to the Luftwaffe (Air Force) but to the Heer (Army).

Hence, I became a lawyer and notary public rather than a fighter pilot ...

Attending airshows and military aviation related exercises for almost 20 years I graduated from taking pictures with an analogue camera to digital and from more affordable equipment to more sophisticated gear.

Of course, this shows in my older pictures (but I still like them).

Today I use mostly Nikon gear with Nikon's D810 and D7200 bodies, Nikon's 500/4 VR tele-lens and Nikon's 70-200/2,8 tele-zoom along with other bits and pieces like a couple of other lenses, tele-converters, filters ...
